Kara Hunter is a member of the Environmental Insurance Coverage Practice Group and specializes in complex environmental litigation matters and insurance coverage. Kara advises a wide range of clients in all phases of case management and litigation to achieve the best possible outcomes.
EXTENDED PROFILE
Kara Hunter is a diligent litigator who has worked extensively in civil litigation, including the areas of general liability and mass and toxic tort. Kara has comprehensive experience in performing legal research, drafting pleadings, preparing and responding to discovery requests, drafting motions, drafting briefs, and participating in settlement negotiations. She also has experience in both state and federal court systems, including attending hearings, participating in oral argument, participating in arbitration, and in taking/defending depositions.
Prior to joining Langsam Stevens Silver & Hollaender, Kara’s practice experience included defending clients in civil and commercial litigation matters, including toxic tort litigation, food and beverage litigation, insurance defense matters, products liability matters, personal injury matters, benzene/solvent exposure matters, mass tort, and regulatory compliance.
While in law school, Kara served as a law clerk for several plaintiff’s firms throughout the Greater Pittsburgh Area. During her second year of law school, she served as a legal intern at Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services. During her third year of law school, she served as a Certified Legal Intern at The University of Pittsburgh School of Law’s Environmental Law Clinic
